December 2010

It's not even out yet, but Disney's forthcoming sci-fi movie Tron: Legacy is already hotly tipped and seemingly ubiquitous. Designers are jumping on the bandwagon and Tron-inspired projects abound. One of the more interesting comes to us courtesy of Shanghai-based architect Ian Douglas-Jones who is fresh back from building an artists suite for the famous Ice Hotel in Jukkasjärvi, Sweden.

May 2013

Earlier this year, CreativeHunt paid a visit to the former Expo site in Pudong. Far from a forgotten wasteland, it’s a hive of activity with projects both short- and long-term well underway. But as anyone who visited the international extravaganza during its six-month tenure will remember, this was an Expo of two halves, with country pavilions housed east of the river, and to the west, corporate and urban best practice areas. 

June 2013

It’s hard to miss 3D printing these days, with a burgeoning hacker scene bringing the rapid prototyping technology out of the factories and into offices, schools and homes. Suddenly, 3D printers are very much mainstream: this year alone saw the firing of the world’s first 3D printed gun; Dita von Teese looking sensational in the first 3D printed dress; and NASA pledge funding for 3D Pizza Printer. They’re even available on Taobao.
